Drummond Street has a wealth of Indian restaurants though few as modern and comfortable as Zamzama. It's far more designer chic than traditional with its dark wood wall paneling broken up by mirrors, bare dark wood tables, chocolate brown seating, and multicoloured walls. Attention-grabbing Bollywood pop plays on a plasma screen giving something akin to a party vibe. The true focus, though, is the menu which hides a fair few fine dishes up its well-pressed sleeve. We recommend domgosht, a perfect peshwari-style lamb dish, and murg nawabi, stuffed chicken breast with a sweet mango sauce. (Vegetarians note: this is a carnivore's menu). The kulfi is amazing. Local officer workers fill the place at lunchtimes, while evenings attract a more mixed crowd. Charming, calm service.
