We have offroad parking for 2 cars outside our house, but only one car, so the space is available almost constantly, unless we have visitors. We're a 2-minute walk from Woolston station (trains stopping at every station to Southampton Central or Portsmouth, roughly every hour) and the Itchen toll bridge (a 10/15-minute walk across the bridge to the bottom of town or St. Mary's stadium - there are plenty of buses over the bridge).
